Floods: 53 evacuated in Alor Gajah


MELAKA: Fifty-three people from 14 families have been evacuated in Alor Gajah after floods hit four villages following heavy rain on Saturday (Oct 22) night.

The Melaka disaster management committee secretariat said the evacuees were taken to a relief centre in SK Durian Tunggal which was opened at 11pm.

"They are from Kampung Gadek, Kampung Punggur, Kampung Bukit Tambun and Kampung Bukit Balai," it said in a statement on Sunday (Oct 23). – Bernama
