Zahid: No more negotiations with PAS after GE15

ALOR SETAR: There will be no negotiation with PAS after the 15th general election (GE15), says Barisan chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi (pic).

He said this was not because Barisan was arrogant but it saw PAS as a party that lacked strong principles in political relationships.

"When Barisan forms the government (after GE15), people will come to us and we must say the time has passed.

"We in Barisan chose a loyal friend who are willing to be with us during rain or shine and we chose friends who has strong principle," he said during his speech at the gathering of Barisan solidarity, stability and prosperity programme at Dataran Seri Serdang, in Kulim Bandar Baharu on Wednesday (Oct 19).

Ahmad Zahid urged PAS leadership to repent for using Quran and edict for their own gain.

On Oct 13, Abdul Hadi announced that PAS had decided to strengthen its cooperation in Perikatan to face GE15, on the principle of uniting the ummah.

On Friday (Oct 14), during a lecture before Friday prayers, Abdul Hadi further explained that the reason they decided not to work with Umno was because there were corrupt leaders in the party.

He had stated that PAS did not want to work with Umno as the latter was "in murky waters due to bribery" and "greedy to gain power to rule".
