Woman nabbed for driving against traffic


KULAI: A woman was arrested for allegedly driving a car against the flow of traffic at KM 31.2 of the North-South Expressway (NSE) northbound.

Kulai OCPD Supt Tok Beng Yeow said the 35-year-old suspect was nabbed on Wednesday (Oct 19) at 1pm at her apartment in Kangkar Pulai, Skudai.

"The arrest was made following a video of the suspect driving against the flow of the traffic which went viral," he said in a statement on Wednesday (Oct 19).

Supt Tok said the video was uploaded on the Community Roda Johor (CRJ) Facebook Group page on Tuesday (Oct 18) at around 9.55am.

He said the suspect was brought to the Kulai police district headquarters and seized the white Perodua MyVi to assist in the investigation.

Supt Tok said the case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 and if convicted could face up to five years in jail and a fine of RM5,000 and not more than RM15,000.
