GE15: Celebs weigh in on both sides of divide

PETALING JAYA: As election season heats up, local celebrities are making shows of support on social media.

Mat Kilau: Kebangkitan Pahlawan star Datuk Adi Putra appeared to have thrown his support behind Barisan Nasional after a picture of him posing with coalition treasurer-general Datuk Seri Hishammudin Hussein was posted on the latter's Instagram account on Monday (Oct 17).

Both Adi Putra and Hishammudin are pictured pumping their fists while sporting official BN shirts in the picture with the message of "stability and prosperity" in the post.

Adi had previously been named as a Barisan Youth Icon by Umno Youth chief Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki in a Facebook post on Sept 27.

Across the divide, Opposition leader and PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim appears to have the endorsement of renowned actor, director and screenwriter Farid Kamil.

A picture of the two shaking hands was uploaded on Anwar's Instagram account on Tuesday (Oct 18).

“This morning I received a visit from artist @faridkamilz at my office. We talked at length about art and culture, as well as the current state and future of the country's film industry,” Anwar wrote in the post.

Farid had also expressed his renewed support for Anwar recently through various posts on social media which included five reasons why he thinks Anwar should be prime minister.
