Maths teacher claims he has been cleared of wrongdoing

PETALING JAYA: Teacher Mohd Fadli Mohamed Salleh claimed that the Education Support Services Disciplinary Council has cleared him of any wrongdoing following his open criticism of the education system and syllabus.

In a Facebook post, the teacher based in Gombak, Selangor wrote about a leaked letter believed to be sent to him by the council.

"There are some issues that need to be explained (in the letter) and the admin of any page that shared the leaked letter, please retract the letter.

"I don't mind people sharing the results but not the letter," he said.

Based on the leaked letter that was being circulated online, Mohd Fadli would not be subject to any disciplinary action by the Education Ministry.

The letter was allegedly signed by Education Services Disciplinary Board chairman Datuk Yusran Shah Mohd Yusof.

Mohd Fadli previously claimed that he was facing dismissal or being demoted by the Education Ministry after he criticised school-related issues, which among others included the school syllabus.

The issue, which went viral, also received the attention of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob and Education Minister Datuk Dr Radzi Md Jidin.

Attempts are being made to contact the Education Ministry for its comments.
