GE15: Warisan has made its final overture to PBS, says Shafie

KOTA KINABALU: Parti Warisan has made its final attempt to court Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) into working together for GE15.

Warisan president Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal (pic) said it was unfair that PBS, a party that has been part of governing Sabah for over 10 years, be given just two or three seats.

"Come join us. Let us work together in the interest of Sabah and Malaysia," he said to reporters after a walkabout at the Gaya Street Sunday market here on Sunday (Oct 16).

He said it was important that the country is governed by those who can take care of the rights of the people, regardless of race or religion.

Asked about talk that more Chinese political and business figures were joining Warisan, Shafie said the party would not hesitate to accept members if they are capable and prominent figures.

He also said that Chinese communities in Sabah were different from those in the peninsula and were looking at Sabahan interests for the long term.
