Car crushed by falling tree, one person injured at Rifle Range Flats


GEORGE TOWN: A car was crushed while several vehicles parked along Jalan Boundary, next to Block F of the Rifle Range Flats, were damaged when a tree fell onto them.

Fortunately, nobody was seriously injured during the incident which occurred at about 3pm Sunday (Oct 16).

Penang Island City councillor Lee Wei Seang said the Fire and Rescue Department as well as an ambulance were dispatched to the scene.

"Workers from the council are in the midst of clearing off the fallen tree to conduct investigations," he said.

Kebun Bunga assemblyman Jason Ong Khan Lee confirmed the incident and said a person sustained minor injuries.

"One person was injured but not seriously and has been sent to hospital," he said.
