Body of man believed dead for a week found in Senai alley


KULAI: The body of a man believed to have been dead for one week was found in an alley here on Sunday (Oct 16).

Kulai OCPD Supt Tok Beng Yeow said the police received information about the unidentified body from the public at about 2.30pm on Sunday.

"The complainant discovered the body in an alley around the Senai area.

"A team of police were deployed to the scene upon receiving the tip-off and found the body lying on the ground, wearing only a pair of pants.

"No identification documents were found on the body and based on early investigations, it is believed that the man has been dead for about seven days," he said in a statement here Sunday (Oct 16).

He noted that no sharp objects were found at the scene.

"Initial investigation shows that there are no criminal elements involved.

"The body has begun decaying and as such, it is difficult to identify any injuries to the body," he said, adding that the body has been sent Hospital Seri Maharaja Tun Ibrahim Kulai for a post-mortem.

The case is classified as sudden death pending a full post-mortem report from the hospital, said Supt Tok.
