Jason Derulo to perform at JDT football club's title celebration on Oct 15

JOHOR BARU: American singer and songwriter Jason Derulo is set to perform in Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) football club title celebrations on Saturday (Oct 15).

In a post at JDT official Facebook page, Johor Southern Tigers, it was announced that the international artist would perform at the club’s title celebration.

The celebration would be held after JDT’s last Malaysian Super League match against Sabah at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium in Iskandar Puteri.

JDT is set to celebrate its nine consecutive Malaysia Super League title, which was a record itself. The team had also picked up the FA Cup and the Charity Cup this year.

JDT II won the 2022 Malaysia Premier League while the JDT Academy won seven national level and international trophies, including the Under-21 President's Cup by JDT III.

In total, JDT has won 11 trophies in 2022.

The celebrations would also feature Johor Malaysia Games (Sukma) athletes, JDT Ice Hockey Team, Johor Jewels (netball), Johor Tigris (Sepak Takraw) and the state's rugby players.

The Johor 2022 Sukma contingent won 77 gold medals, 52 silver and 43 bronze to emerge overall champions for the first time in the Games' 36-year history.

Also in 2022, the JDT Ice Hockey Team won the Weekend Warriors League, Johor Jewels delivered the Sooka Netball Super League, Johor Tigris won the Tun Ali Cup and rugby won four national age group tournaments.

JDT II won the 2022 Malaysia Premier League while the JDT Academy won seven national level and international trophies, including the Under-21 President's Cup by JDT III.

Tickets for the match at the 40,000 capacity stadium have already been sold out.
