IPOH: A shop at a hypermarket in Meru Raya here was badly damaged after a car crashed into it, says Comm Datuk Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri.

The Perak police chief said the car driver, 43, had accidentally stepped on the accelerator pedal and the car sped towards the shop at about 12pm on Thursday (Oct 13).

"The car also hit a motorcycle before it crashed into the shop.

"The staff at the shop, the driver and a 31-year-old motorcyclist were unharmed," he said.

Comm Mohd Yusri said several items in the shop were destroyed.

"The computers, cabinets and two machines in the shop were destroyed. The car’s bumper, front tires and headlamps were damaged as well," he said, adding that the motorcycle was also badly damaged.
