150 nurses expected to participate in northern nursing conference

GEORGE TOWN: More than 150 nurses are expected to participate in the northern nursing conference, which will take place on Oct 7 and 8.

Themed "The power of educated and dedicated nurses are the heart of healthcare", the event will be held at Eastin Hotel Penang.

ASP Medical Group senior vice president Dr Doreen Yeap said this was the 11th year the group were running the programme.

"The event was first started in 2010 and I was the founder.

"We stopped for two years in 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

"There will be workshops and hands-on sessions to hone nursing skills, improve the quality of patient care and develop critical thinking during pandemics and emergencies.

"We have invited reputable speakers from National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), Social Security Organisation (Perkeso) and Mahsa University to give insights into the latest technologies and expertise in the nursing field,'' she said.
