Twelve students injured after van loses control, crashes on SKVE

SEPANG: Twelve students were injured after the van they were travelling in was involved in an accident along the South Klang Valley Expressway here.

Sepang OCPD Asst Comm Wan Kamarul Azran Wan Yusof said the accident occurred at KM6.7 of the highway at around 2pm on Wednesday (Oct 5).

"The van was headed toward the Ayer Hitam toll plaza from Kajang when the accident occurred.

"The vehicle was believed to have lost control and crashed there," he said when contacted on Wednesday.

He said 12 students, aged between eight and 16 years old, suffered multiple injuries and were rushed to the Serdang Hospital for medical treatment.

"The 35-year-old driver suffered a broken left leg

"Two of the eight-year-old students were admitted to the red zone at the hospitals Emergency Unit while four others aged between eight and 12 years old were admitted to the yellow zone," he said adding that no other vehicle was involved in the accident.

He said the case was being investigated for careless and inconsiderate driving.
