Missing disabled teen found dead in pond in Johor


Bukit Gambir fire and rescue department firemen fishing the disabled 17-year-old boy out of a pond some 100m from his house in Kampung Sengkang Batu 18, Bukit Gambir in Muar.

MUAR: A disabled teenager was found dead in a pond here after going missing for a few hours.

Bukit Gambir fire and rescue department operations commander Rafiah Aziz said the 17-year-old boy was said to have gone missing at around 4pm on Tuesday (Oct 4).

“We launched a search and rescue to look for the victim around the vicinity of his house in Kampung Sengkang Batu 18, Bukit Gambir here.

“We spread out our search into three 2km areas where the victim was last seen.

“However, at 6.47pm, his family members found the victim’s body floating in a 6.09m by 6.09m pool, some 100m away from their home,” she said.

She added that firemen fished the victim out of the water using some special equipment and handed over the body to the police for further action.
