Cops on the hunt for duo on bike who brazenly robbed woman in broad daylight


KLANG: Two men brazenly robbed a woman of her handbag as she was getting out of her car near Jalan Batu Unjur in Taman Bayu Perdana here on Monday (Oct 3) morning.

South Klang OCPD Asst Comm Cha Hoong Fong said the incident occurred at around 9.40am on Monday.

"The woman was getting out of her vehicle in front of a house along that road when two men on a motorcycle approached her car.

"One of the men got off the motorcycle and opened the car door and grabbed her handbag before getting back on the motorcycle and fleeing the scene," he said in a statement Wednesday (Oct 5).

He said the woman had just come home after going to a shop and was just opening her house gate when the incident occurred.

"The two men involved are believed to be locals.

"They got away with the victim's handbag which contained more than RM200 in cash, documents and other valuables," he said, adding that the incident was captured via dashcam footage of a passing vehicle.

He said the case has been classified as gang robbery under Section 395 of the Penal Code.

"We have identified the suspects involved and are working on tracking down and arresting them.

"We urge anyone with information on the case to come forward and assist us in our investigations," he said, adding that those with information could contact the South Klang police at 03-3376 2222.
