REMBAU: A 21-year-old college student has been killed after the car he was driving collided head-on with another vehicle at KM16 of Jalan Seremban-Tampin near here.

Rembau police chief DSP Hazri Mohamad said the victim, Arref Muzakir Mohamad Shawal, died on the spot in the 12.45am accident on Wednesday (Oct 5).

He said the victim is believed to have been coming from Tampin when he crashed into a pickup truck driven by a 49-year-old man.

"Based on preliminary investigations, the victim was heading to his college in Klang, Selangor from his house in Segamat, Johor.

"The accident happened along a bend and we believe he may have lost control of his car and crashed into the other vehicle," he said.

DSP Hazri said the driver of the other car sustained head injuries and was rushed to hospital.
