Motorcyclist, tapir killed in Negri crash

KUALA PILAH: A 33-year-old motorcyclist was killed after he crashed into a tapir at KM17 Jalan Seremban-Kuala Pilah here.

Kuala Pilah OCPD Supt Amran Mohd Ghani said the incident happened near Ulu Bendul around 11.15pm Thursday (Sept 29).

He said the victim was heading towards Kuala Pilah alone when the incident happened.

"Based on a preliminary probe, we believe the victim could not avoid crashing into the animal, which dashed across the road.

"He suffered serious head injuries and died on the spot," he said.

Supt Amran said the tapir was also killed.

The victim's remains were taken to the Tuanku Ampuan Najihah Hospital for post-mortem.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
