Local authority officer assaulted in PJ after issuing summons


PETALING JAYA: An officer from a local authority has been assaulted after issuing a summons to an individual here.

In a statement on Wednesday (Sept 28), Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid said that a report was lodged by the 24-year-old victim on Monday (Sept 26).

"At around 9.30am, the complainant was on duty in Petaling Jaya and was approached by a local man who uttered foul language at and attacked her after she issued a summons for a road infraction.

"The police arrested a 56-year-old suspect in Petaling Jaya the next day," he said.

Witnesses are urged to contact investigating officer Insp Yugarajan Raman at 014-304 9419.

"I urge everyone to give their cooperation to public servants who are performing their duties," he said.
