PETALING JAYA: Star Media Group Bhd, which publishes The Star newspaper and online portal, would like to remind the public that it does not use WhatsApp for job recruitment purposes.

It has come to the company's attention that there are messages circulating on WhatsApp and social media, claiming that "Star Media managers" are hiring a "time team" for part-time roles.

The message also includes daily rates and requires those interested to click on an unverified link titled "WhatsApp Me".

Star Media Group would like to reiterate that it does not recruit anyone through such means and warns the public not to fall for such scams.
