KUALA LUMPUR: The Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Ministry is hoping the Finance Ministry will approve the creation of a special scheme for university students intending to become entrepreneurs.
Its minister Tan Sri Noh Omar (pic) said many local graduands have the necessary knowledge and skills but may face difficulty securing capital to start a business.
"We currently estimate there are 500,000 graduands who have the entrepreneurial (drive) to start their own business, but have capital issues," he said when closing the Entrepreneur Access to Financing (BIAYA Usahawan) 2022 programme here on Saturday (Sept 24).
"We hope this special scheme will be agreed upon by the Finance Ministry and be passed during the tabling of Budget 2023," he added. – Bernama
