Incident occurred in August, say police over video of cop arresting snatch thief

KUALA LUMPUR: A video making rounds on social media of a policeman making an arrest was from a case that occurred in August, say the police.

In a statement Thursday (Sept 22), Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Noor Dellhan Yahaya said the officer arrested a snatch theft suspect on Aug 31 near Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock.

“An investigation paper was opened and the suspect, aged 43, was arrested under Section 43 of the Penal Code.

“He was charged on Sept 1,” he said.
