Zahid will not get a fair trial if aide's statement not accepted, lawyer tells court

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi will be deprived of a fair trial if the witness statement of his press secretary is not accepted in its totality, the High Court has been told.

Ahmad Zahid's lawyer Hisyam Teh Poh Teik argued that parts of Major Jeneral (R) Datuk Fadzlette Othman Merican Idris Merican's witness statement – which touched on the credibility of Ahmad Zahid's former executive secretary Major Mazlina Mazlan @ Ramly – should be accepted by the court as it was relevant to challenge the testimony of Major Mazlina, who is a prosecution witness.
