Polls not the only thing on Selangor PKR's mind, says Amirudin

PETALING JAYA: Polls are not only thing Selangor PKR is dealing with and the party has yet to draw up its list of election candidates for the 15th General Election (GE15), says Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.

The Selangor PKR chairman said the focus was instead on taking the necessary measures to deal with risks of floods and the state economy.

"Although the election is important, but we have only placed a 30% priority on it.

"It is okay if other people are occupied with calling for an election, but we will continue to focus on floods and the economy," he said.

Amirudin, who is also the Selangor Mentri Besar, was met at the World Rivers Day Celebration at Taman Eko Ara Damansara in Petaling Jaya on Saturday (Sept 17).

On Sept 7, PKR communications director Fahmi Fadzil reportedly said that seat allocation among Pakatan Harapan component parties was still being discussed and expected to be completed within two months.

On Saturday, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, during his speech at Stadium Titiwangsa during the launch of the Barisan Nasional Youth election machinery, hinted that GE15 might be held soon.

Ismail, who is also Umno vice-president, said the party's top five leaders would meet soon to decide on the date.
