Fatal road accident victim confirmed to be policeman


MUAR: The Muar district police headquarters has confirmed that a 55-year-old man killed in a road accident at KM134.7 of the North-South (PLUS) Expressway heading towards Pagoh on Wednesday (Sept 14) morning, was a policeman.

Its chief, ACP Raiz Mukhliz Azman Aziz, said the victim was attached to the Kuala Lumpur police contingent headquarters.

He said that in the 4.45am incident, besides the car driven by the victim, the other vehicles involved were three lorries, a trailer and a bus.

"The accident is believed to have happened when a lorry which was heading towards Johor Bahru crashed into the car, which suddenly came out from the Pagoh RnR area lane heading south.

"The policeman was seriously injured and died at the scene,” he said, adding that members of the public who witnessed the accident were urged to go to the nearest police station to assist in the investigation. - Bernama
