Elderly man found dead in his home in Jinjang Utara


KUALA LUMPUR: A senior citizen was found dead inside his own home in Jinjang Utara on Sunday (Sept 11).

Sentul OCPD Asst Comm Beh Eng Lai said that a report was lodged by the victim’ daughter at 2.09am.

The victim, a 77-year-old man, was found dead at the Batu Muda PPR.

"Investigations showed that the deceased was found dead near a bed and surrounded by a pile of rubbish. The victim was only wearing red pants.

"Assistance from the firefighters were required as the body had been stuck between the bed and a shelf.

"Preliminary checks showed no physical signs of injury on the body," he said in a statement on Sunday (Sept 11).

A postmortem will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.

Police also believe that the victim had died at least 24 hours before the discovery based on the condition of the body.

The case has been classified as a Sudden Death Report.
