PORT DICKSON: Police found the remains of a couple in a house in Bandar Dataran Segar in Lukut near here after breaking into the unit.

District police chief Supt Aidi Sham Mohamed said police were alerted by a member of the public of the couple lying motionless in the house around 5.15pm on Thursday (Sept 8).

"Police and Fire and Rescue Department personnel rushed to the house but couldn't get in.

"We had to break the grille lock to gain entry," he said in a statement on Friday (Sept 9).

Supt Aidi Sham said a 61-year-old man and 58-year-old woman were lying motionless.

"A medical officer then checked their condition and both were pronounced dead.

"Their remains were taken to Hospital Port Dickson for post mortem," he said.

Supt Aidi Sham said the man had a history of hypertension while his wife did not seem to have any medical problem.

“No criminal element was found in the couple's deaths.

“The case has been classified as "sudden death" for now,” he said, adding that the post mortem would be conducted on Saturday (Sept 10), pending the outcome of the Covid-19 report.
