Investigation paper on probe on Mohd Nazlan with MACC, says Commission's chief

PUTRAJAYA: The investigation paper on the case involving Court of Appeal judge Justice Datuk Mohd Nazlan Mohd Ghazali is with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), says its chief Tan Sri Azam Baki.

He said the MACC was awaiting further instructions, adding that the investigation paper had been sent to the Attorney General's Chambers in May.

Azam said the paper had been returned to the MACC for certain actions to be taken.

"It is normal for investigation papers to go back and forth between the AGC and enforcement agencies. We are waiting for further instructions (from the AGC)," he said on Thursday (Sept 8).

Justice Mohd Nazlan was the judge who convicted former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak over the misappropriation of RM42mil of SRC International Sdn Bhd funds.

The MACC had confirmed that the investigation paper on Justrice Mohd Nazlan had been submitted to the AGC on May 18.

On Aug 21, Attorney General Tan Sri Idrus Harun said the investigation paper was not with the Chambers.

He could not confirm the authenticity of a purported leaked document that appeared to reveal details of the MACC investigations.
