Five foreigners arrested over stabbing in Sri Petaling


KUALA LUMPUR: Five foreign men have been detained over a stabbing in Sri Petaling here thanks to closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage.

Brickfields deputy OCPD Supt Basri Sagoni said a police patrol team found a man lying face down beside Jalan Radin Bagus 8 at 3.49am on Wednesday (Sept 7).

"The victim was stabbed on the left side of his torso.

"We believe the victim, also a foreigner, was drunk. He was sent to a nearby hospital for treatment," he said when contacted.

He added that no weapon was found at the crime scene, but CCTV footage led to the arrest of the five suspects.

"Two of them had bruises on their faces.

"They are being held under the Immigration Act," he said.
