5kg bottled cooking oil price drops to RM33.50 from Sept 8

PETALING JAYA: The ceiling price for 5kg bottled cooking oil will drop further to RM33.50 from RM34.70 effective Sept 8.

Bernama quoted anti-inflation task force chairman Tan Sri Annuar Musa saying that the 5kg bottled cooking oil will be set at a maximum price of RM33.50 while bottled 3kg, 2kg and 1kg oil will be priced at RM21.10, RM14.30 and RM7.50 respectively until Oct 7.

The government removed subsidies for bottled cooking oil on July 1, but price controls were in place.

Presently, subsidies are only available for 1kg cooking oil in polybags.
