KULAI: Two roads here will be closed for a few hours on Tuesday (Aug 30) and Wednesday (Aug 31) to give way to the district-level National Day celebration.

Road users are advised to avoid Jalan Pejabat Kerajaan and Jalan Kampung Baru heading towards Dataran Cahaya Kulai from 8am to 10am on Tuesday, as a parade rehearsal would be conducted, said Kulai Municipal Council (MPKu) secretary Muhamad Syahrizat Alwee.

He said the Kulai district council has released a statement regarding the closure of the roads, as the event is slated to take place on Wednesday morning.

“As such, the roads will also be off limits from 6.30am to 11am on Wednesday to give way to the National Day celebration and parade.

“We hope the public can take note and give their cooperation during this time,” he said.

Meanwhile, MPKu chief whip Mohd Fadil Misran urged members of the public to join in the nation’s 65th National Day celebration at Dataran Cahaya Kulai.

“It will surely be a lively affair this time as we have not been able to celebrate the occasion for the past two years,” he said when speaking on behalf of MPKu president Natazha Hariss at the monthly full council meeting here on Monday (Aug 29).

Mohd Fadil informed the attendees that Natazha was unable to chair the meeting as he was away on an official trip with the state government to visit a data centre in Middenmeer, a village in the Netherlands from Aug 26 to Aug 30.
