Bukit Mertajam single-storey house damaged in early morning fire


BUKIT MERTAJAM: A single-storey house was damaged in a fire on Saturday (Aug 27) morning.

In a statement, the Penang Fire and Rescue Department said that they received a distress call at 2.18am.

“When the team arrived at the scene, it was found that the fire involved a one-storey residential house. The estimated percentage of fire destruction is 80% and the fire was under control by 2.43am," said the Department

“The fire extinguishing operation was led by the Bukit Mertajam fire station and assisted by the nearby fire station and voluntary squads. No victims were reported,” it added.
