State budget expected to be tabled in November, says Perak MB

KUALA KANGSAR: The state budget is expected to be tabled during the Perak assembly sitting in November, says Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad.

He said even if the federal Budget 2023 would be tabled in early October, there were still some things that needed to be done before the state could table its own budget.

"I think it's normal for the (federal) budget to be tabled during the first Friday of the month.

"Usually for us, after the federal budget has been tabled, we will have a final engagement session to see what are the things we want, but were not included in it," he said after attending a tree-planting programme at Maktab Rendah Sains MARA Sultan Azlan Shah here on Friday (Aug 26).

"We will discuss what will be included or excluded in the state budget before we bring it to the state assembly," he said.

"According to the schedule, it is most likely to be tabled in November," he added.

The Star broke the news that Budget 2023, which was scheduled to be tabled on Oct 28, will now be moved forward to Oct 7.
