Motorcyclist survives shooting in Kota Damansara


PETALING JAYA: A motorcyclist has survived after being shot by an unknown assailant in Kota Damansara here.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid said the incident occurred at about 8.40pm on Wednesday (Aug 24).

"We received a call from the public and rushed to the scene.

"The victim lost control of his vehicle and crashed. He suffered injuries to his chest and left arm.

"However, he managed to take refuge with security guards in a nearby housing area," he said when contacted on Thursday (Aug 25).

The victim was sent to a nearby hospital for treatment, he added.

"We are investigating the matter under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder," he said.

ACP Mohamad Fakhrudin urged those with information on the incident to come forward and contact investigating officer Asst Supt Mohd Maliki Ariffin at 013-8308485.
