Najib jail watch: All quiet outside Kajang Prison


KAJANG: The scene at the Kajang Prison was calm and quiet on Wednesday (Aug 24) morning following the Federal Court’s decision to uphold former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak's conviction.

As of press time, only members of the media were seen at the roadside near the entrance to the complex since morning.

On Tuesday, a crowd, mainly nearby residents, were seen standing at the roadside here anticipating the arrival of Najib at the prison complex.

The former premier was sentenced to 12 years in jail and a fine of RM210mil after the Federal Court upheld Najib’s conviction for misappropriating SRC International funds amounting to RM42mil.
