Johoreans urged to fly the Jalur Gemilang ahead of National Day

JOHOR BARU: The public has been urged to hoist the Jalur Gemilang at their homes and offices as the National Day celebration is only a few days away.

State education, information and communication committee chairman Norliza Noh said that she hoped to see Johoreans keep their Merdeka spirit high, especially after two long years of muted celebration.

“We have launched the state-level Fly the Jalur Gemilang campaign in Kota Tinggi last Sunday (Aug 14) and we will continue the campaign from district to district until the National Day celebration on Aug 31.

“We will do our best to keep the Merdeka spirit among the public high but we hope that they will also do their part to show their love for the country by flying the Jalur Gemilang,” she said.

She said this to the press when met during EduCity’s International Digital Classroom Conference here in EduCity on Sunday (Aug 21).

“We notice that schools are also going all out this Merdeka month by coming up with all kinds of programmes and initiatives in conjunction with the National Day celebration.

“We believe that we will be able to see more Jalur Gemilang flying high around the state as the National Day draws closer,” she said.
