A WOMAN described her boss as the best in the world after the latter approved her last-minute request for time off to “go pray to the God of Love”, Sin Chew Daily reported.
She posted a screenshot of her WhatsApp conversation with the boss on social media, saying she did not expect such a reason to be accepted.
In the chat, the woman from Perak wrote: “Next Thurs I on leave har. Big mission. Go pray to Yue Lao (the deity in-charge-of marriage and love in Chinese mythology).”
Her boss replied with two “face with tears of joy” emojis while writing: “Take la. Later no bf blame pulak.”
The woman said the Qixi Festival, also known as the Chinese Valentine’s Day, fell on Aug 4 this year.
“It is believed that if one prays to Yue Lao on that day, his or her wish is more likely to come true, so I applied for leave,” she said.
Her post garnered many comments, with most people wishing her good luck in finding true love.
> The daily also reported that Hong Kong singer Hacken Lee was shocked to find out that his beauty queen wife Emily Lo Suk-yi had “secretly” bought a new luxury apartment worth HK$25.83mil (RM14.66mil) in her own name.
The 54-year-old revealed that he had no idea about the purchase until he read about it in the news.
“She mentioned something about it when I was (busy) recording a TV show; I did not pay much attention then,” he admitted.
The couple got married in 2006 and have two children.
Their assets are estimated to be worth more than HK$230mil (RM130.56mil).
