Latest updates on Rancha-Rancha harbour proposal ready, says Dr Wee

PETALING JAYA: The latest status updates on the new proposed harbour in Labuan's Rancha-Rancha industrial area are ready, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong (pic).

The Transport Minister said he is on standby at the Dewan Negara to answer oral questions by Senator Datuk Bashir Alias on the proposed construction of the Rancha-Rancha harbour.

“Ready at Dewan Negara to answer the 10th oral question put forward by Senator Datuk Bashir Alias regarding the latest status of the proposed Labuan Integrated Port project at the Rancha-Rancha area,” he said in a Facebook post on Monday (Aug 8).

On May 20, Dr Wee said a meeting was held with the Labuan Port Authority and that he had visited the project site.

“Dermaga Merdeka port can no longer cope with our future needs. Thus, the LPA has proposed the construction of the Rancha Rancha harbour via a ‘request for proposal’ (RFP),” he said on his Facebook page.
