Factory owner takes his own life, slash wounds found on neck

IPOH: Believed to be suffering from depression, a factory owner took his own life after slash wounds were found on his neck.

Perak acting police chief Datuk Deputy Comm Datuk Azizi Mat Aris said the body of the man was found behind his factory in Menglembu, near here around 9.45am.

He said the man has been running a wholesale and fish supplier business for the past 10 years and had tried to take his life three years ago.

"He is married with four children, and investigations revealed that he has been suffering from depression over financial issues in relation to his business.

"The last he spoke to his wife, he told her to withdraw all the money from his savings account for her and the children.

"When he spoke to her, he gave her a signal of a last goodbye," he said.

DCP Azizi Mat said when police arrived at the scene, they found a meat cleaver next to him.

"There are no criminal elements found, and there were no injuries to the other parts of the body.

"His personal belongings were also with him," he said.
