Dr Wee: Good record-keeping and identification of history important for associations

PETALING JAYA: For associations, careful record-keeping as well as identification of history and heritage is important to serve as a guide for the future, says Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

He also expressed hopes that these associations would continue to prosper and benefit the community as well as the country.

He said this after being invited to sign the historical documentation of the Malaysia Heavy Construction Equipment Owners' Association at the Transport Ministry in Putrajaya on Monday (Aug 8) afternoon.

"The association, which was established on June 6, 1990, has kept a variety of complete historical documentation, including the names of the founders, meeting minutes at the time of establishment and the activities that have been carried out.

"The task of identifying the history of the association is a right action because it will be a guide in the future.

"It is hoped that associations like this continue to prosper and continue to benefit the community and the country,” said Dr Wee in a Facebook post on Monday.

The signing ceremony was also witnessed by association president Leong Foo Yew.
