KUCHING: Any differences between the federal and Sarawak governments on implementing development projects can be resolved amicably in a family spirit, says Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
The Sarawak Premier said the state was like a small Sarawak family under the auspices of the larger Malaysian Family.
"As in any family, there are bound to be different opinions and ways of doing things between the peninsula and Sarawak.
"I believe this will not be a problem if the differences are resolved in a friendly family atmosphere.
"No differences will be left unresolved if they are discussed sincerely for our shared interests," he said at the closing of the Jelajah Aspirasi Keluarga Malaysia event at Celebration Square in Petra Jaya here on Sunday (Aug 7).

The three-day event was declared closed by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
Abang Johari also said Sarawak appreciated having some autonomy to make decisions on the state's development.
He said Sarawak was focusing its economy on technological advances, sustainability and the world's need to address climate change in order to become a developed state by 2030.
"I believe an advanced Sarawak means an advanced Malaysia," he said.
On the Malaysian Family concept, Abang Johari said it reflected the Prime Minister's commitment to building inclusivity and togetherness as the core values in developing the nation, particularly in these challenging times.
"I hope the spirit of inclusivity and togetherness will lead to greater understanding and unity among all Malaysians," he said.
Meanwhile, Works Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said more than 80,000 people had visited the Jelajah Aspirasi Keluarga Malaysia event over three days.
He said the good response reflected Sarawakians' appreciation of the Malaysian Family values of inclusivity, togetherness and contentment.
"We want everyone to live together as a big family to build a peaceful and prosperous Malaysia," he said.
