Cops: 23 arrested in KL entertainment outlet raid


KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 23 people were detained following a raid at an unlicensed entertainment outlet at Wilayah Complex.

Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Noor Dellhan Yahaya said those detained were 16 foreign patrons, four foreign female dancers, two foreign male workers and a local manager.

"We raided the outlet at about 3.30am on Sunday (Aug 7).

"We also seized several items including a sound system, two microphones, seven bottles of liquor and RM540 cash," he said in a statement on Sunday.

Those detained have been remanded for two days for further investigation, ACP Noor Dellhan said.

"We will step up such operations and conduct inspections on entertainment outlets to ensure all laws are adhered to," he added.
