JOHOR BARU: Pengerang MP Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said’s father, Datuk Othman Said, has passed away at their family home in Kelana Jaya. He was 89.
Othman was a retired government servant and held various positions including as Community Development Department (Kemas) director-general and Information Department deputy director-general.
Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi attended the funeral prayers which was held at Masjid Al Hidayah in Kelana Jaya in Selangor on Friday (July 29) morning.
“May the family of the deceased be steadfast in accepting God's will and be patient over his passing.
“Let's present Al Fatihah to the departed, may he be placed with the faithful and pious,” he said in a Facebook post.
Former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak offered his condolences to Azalina and her family over the passing of her father.
“May you be patient and persevere in facing this challenge,” he said.
Johor Umno chief Datuk Seri Hasni Mohammad also offered his condolences to the family.
“May his soul always be blessed and be placed among those who believe and do righteous deeds,” he said.
