Barisan can take Penang if we stay united, says Tok Mat

KEPALA BATAS: The component parties in Barisan Nasional must work together in a united front and as a team to face the 15th general election (GE15), says Datuk Seri Mohamad Hassan (pic).

The Barisan deputy chairman said strategy and unity in the coalition's preparation would ensure that it would be a formidable side to face the national polls.

"But there is one condition we need to follow, we must put our house (in order) first and to make sure that there is no argument and or conflict within our ranks within Barisan," he said during a press conference on Sunday (July 24).

He said once the coalition was in order, it was not impossible for Barisan to unseat DAP as the state government in Penang as Barisan has done that during the recent state election in Johor and Malacca.

Earlier, he launched state Barisan election machinery at Perda Convention Centre in Kubang Menerong.

Some 2,000 Barisan members attended the event comprising Umno, MCA, MIC and PBRS while friends of BN are Indian Progressive Party and Parti Cinta Malaysia.

On the preparation of the election machinery in Penang, Mohamad said that he was satisfied with the preparation by state Barisan to face GE15.

"I am proud with their preparation I would say all division has been prepared for more than 50% mostly," he said.

Present during the launch were state parties leaders such as Barisan secretary-general Zambry Datuk Seri Zambry Abd Kadir, state MCA chairman Datuk Tan Teik Cheng, MCA secretary-general Datuk Chong Sin Woon, and other Barisan component party leaders.
