PETALING JAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has given a complete, detailed explanation in the Dewan Rakyat of the rise in the cost of living, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

Dr Wee said that Ismail Sabri's written answer to Port Dickson MP Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was well-composed and delivered a comprehensive explanation of the government's actions to counter the issue.

The Opposition leader had asked Ismail Sabri questions about the steps taken to handle the high cost of living and price stability of goods.

On the measures taken, the Transport Minister added that he hopes the steps taken by the government will ensure that the welfare of the people is protected, in view of the challenges of inflation which have hit the entire world.

"The 14th Parliament sitting which began today will continue until Aug 4 and we hope the proceedings run smoothly and orderly for the benefit of the nation," said the Ayer Hitam MP on his Facebook page on Monday (July 18).

"The Speaker urged all of us to observe a moment of silence and pray for the victims of MH17, to mark the 8th anniversary of the tragedy which fell on July 17, where 298 passengers and crew lost their lives," added Dr Wee.
