SEREMBAN: A 41-year-old man is in court facing charges for the murder of a five-year-old girl and 29-year-old woman as well as causing grievous hurt to a 35-year-old woman and neglecting her 20-month-old baby.
All the victims lived with the man but were not related to him.
In the first case, the Magistrate's court fixed Aug 18 to mention the case involving the self-employed man and his 17-year-old daughter for the alleged murder of five-year-old Hanan Hasrul Izwan.

Magistrate Mohd Firdaus Salleh fixed the date after the prosecution told the court that the forensic, chemist and post-mortem reports were not ready.
The duo allegedly murdered Hanan at the same house around 7pm on March 3.
The suspects were charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code read together with Section 34, which carries the mandatory death penalty upon conviction or a jail term of up to 30 years and whipping.

At another court, Magistrate Norzaliza Tesmin also fixed Aug 18 for the mention of another case involving the accused for the alleged murder of 29-year-old Meriammah Abdullah Basam, 29, whose remains were found in a ravine along Jalan Bukit Putus on March 20.
This was after the court was told that the relevant reports for the alleged crime were not ready.

He allegedly committed the crime between March 13 and 15 at the same house.
The man also appeared at the Sessions Court here after being charged with causing grievous hurt to a third woman and neglecting her 20-month-old baby and has been given one month by the Sessions Court here to appoint counsel.
Judge Rushan Lutfi Mohamed made the order after deputy public prosecutor Goh Hsiao Tung told the court that the medical reports for the alleged crimes were ready.

The judge told the accused that he had until Aug 18 to do so after the court heard that he had yet to appoint a lawyer as he was unable to get in touch with his family.
Rushan Lutfi told the accused that he would have to represent himself at the next proceeding in the event he failed to appoint a lawyer by then.
The accused had allegedly splashed hot water on Siti Syarifah Aibiddin, the mother of Hanan, which caused her to suffer serious burns.
When the woman's injuries were so severe, that when she appeared in court she had to be brought in with a wheelchair.
He was charged under Section 326 of the Penal Code which carries a jail term of up to 20 years, a fine and whipping if found guilty.
For the other charge, he was accused of neglect against Siti Syarifah's 20-month-old son.
He was charged under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act which carries a fine of up to RM50,000 or a jail term of up to 20 years or both upon conviction.
He allegedly committed both the offences between Dec 1 last year and March 23 at a house in Taman Nee Yan near here.
