Johor MB says Sultan gifted shoes

JOHOR BARU: Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi has acknowledged that a pair of shoes that he was seen using was a gift from the Johor Ruler.

In a short reply via Facebook, he said that Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar had given such gifts to past members of the state executive council and civil servants in an effort to motivate them to do their best for the rakyat.

"Such baseless accusations and attacks should be stopped immediately," he said.

Onn's reply comes hours after a social media user highlighted a pair of shoes that was used by the Mentri Besar.

The person had also put up a picture of the shoes and poked fun at Onn for being able to afford expensive shoes within three months of being appointed to the job as mentri besar.

He had also tagged various officials in the post, including Johor Crown Prince Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim.
