Missing 3-year-old boy found drowned in Beaufort


KOTA KINABALU: The body of a missing three-year-old boy has been found in the Beaufort district on Sunday (July 10) morning.

Mohd Qyis Azhar Abdul Halim is believed to have drowned.

Villagers found his body 500m from his house in Kampung Kuridak Gerama at 10.20am.

The child was reported missing at 5.45pm on Saturday (July 9), said a Fire and Rescue Department spokesman.

“The remains of the boy were found washed up on the river bank.

“He was pronounced dead by the police and his body was taken to the district hospital for further examination," the spokesman said.

Meanwhile, a search operation continued on Sunday for a missing 18-month-old girl, also in Beaufort district, who went missing by the river near her house at Batu 66 after wandering off on Saturday.
