THE security guard in a plantation in Mentakab, Pahang, survived a violent encounter with an elephant, Makkal Osai reported.
Arjunan Narayanan, who works in Semantan estate, came across the elephant at about 7.30pm on Tuesday.
The 50-year-old, who was injured in the leg after being attacked by the elephant, was admitted to the Temerloh district hospital after he managed to contact the plantation’s assistant manager for help.
Temerloh police chief Asst Comm Mohd Azhar Mohd Yusof confirmed the incident, adding that the Wildlife Department had been notified for further action. The Pahang Forestry Department said it was monitoring the situation.
