KUALA LUMPUR: A 24-year-old man has been charged at a Magistrate's Court here in connection with a prank video where two women had their headscarves pulled.
Wangsa Maju OCPD Supt Ashari Abu Samah said the man was charged under Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act on Wednesday (July 6).
He added that the man was arrested at about 7.30pm on Tuesday (July 5).
Supt Ashari advised the public not to record or spread videos that might cause public distress, adding that the video was made to gain attention on social media.
He added that police have not received any report from the two women in the video.
On Tuesday, mStar reported that the video had been shared on Twitter by a person who called the content "rude".
In the video, the YouTuber is seen ambushing two women in separate encounters and pulling on their headscarves.
He then apologises to the women for his actions and claims that he was just making content for a video.
Most social media users who reacted to the tweet also slammed the YouTuber’s actions, with some tagging the police and urging them to investigate.
