Ex-commando killed in collision with 14-year-old motorcyclist


MELAKA: An ex-army commando was killed in a head-on collision with a 14-year-old motorcyclist at Jalan Pantai Puteri here early Wednesday (July 6) morning.

Melaka Tengah OCPD Asst Comm Christopher Patit said the 42-year-old victim, identified as Mazlan Mohamad, died on the spot from his injuries.

He said the victim was on his way to Sungai Udang by motorcycle when the accident occurred at 4.20am.

ACP Christopher said the teenager, identified as Nurshafiqa Abdullah, was seriously injured.

The teenager was riding on the opposite lane and did not have a valid licence, he said.

He added that girl's motorcycle was registered to a 60-year-old man and the road tax had not been renewed since March 2015.

ACP Christopher said the accident is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
