Queen visits Heritage Technology and Gastronomy Academy at Centexs, Sarawak


KUCHING: Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah paid a visit on Monday (July 4) to the Heritage Technology and Gastronomy Academy at the Centre of Technical Excellence (Centexs) here.

Her Majesty arrived at Centexs at 3pm and spent about three hours viewing the Keringkam and Songket motifs and designs as well as bead embroidery produced by the academy trainees.

Also present were Sarawak Welfare, Community Well-being, Women, Family and Child Development, Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah and Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister's Department (Law, MA63 and State-Federal Relations) Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali.

After the visit, Tunku Azizah was treated to a fashion show that presented songket-incorporated haute couture designs by local designers, namely Datuk Raymond Jolly, Wan Bainun, Datuk Asfarenaa and Harizan Khaider. – Bernama
